André Barata is Professor in Philosophy at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), in Portugal, where he is the director of the PhD Program in Philosophy, and researcher at LabCom. IFP — Communication, Philosophy, Humanities.
He obtained his PhD in contemporary philosophy at the New University of Lisbon in 2004, and his agregation in social and political philosophy at the University of Beira in 2017. He was visiting professor at UERJ (Brasil, Rio de Janeiro). His main research areas include phenomenology and social and political philosophy .
